Last week, Tim Morrison, the National Security Council’s Senior Director for European Affairs, arrived at the SCIF to testify in the impeachment inquiry against Donald Trump. During his testimony he stated that he had no concerns over anything that was stated in the phone call between President Trump and new Ukrainian President Zelensky.

He also revealed some important history on another key witness in the inquiry, namely Lt. Colonel Alex Vindman. The Ukrainian-born Vindman is being touted as a star witness who is above reproach due to his military service and his earning of a Purple Heart during the Iraq war. But Morrison revealed that he’s far from the credible witness he’s being sold as to the American public.

Vindman was Morrison’s subordinate, Morrison told the impeachment inquiry. He stated that he had issues with Vindman in the past.

Another officer, Lt. Colonel Jim Hickman, who worked with Vindman during operations in Germany, also had issues with Vindman. Now retired, Hickman explained that he had to ‘verbally reprimand” Vindman for partisan and inappropriate behavior.

Hickman explained that during the joint exercises, Vindman bashed “America a few times in front of subordinates, Russians, & GS Employees, as well as, hearing an earful about globalization, Obama’s plan, etc.” Hickman at this point, took Vindman aside and gave him a verbal reprimand for his behavior.

He went on to state:

Don’t let the uniform fool you… he is a political activist in uniform.

Hickman’s entire Twitter thread on his interactions with Vindman can be read here.
