Another Friday shake up has occurred as the Trump administration sends acting Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney packing and announces his replacement. North Carolina Republican Representative Mark Meadows is slated to take his place. Trump made the announcement in a tweet.

Trump did not offer any reasons for the change in staff, but thanked Mulvaney for his service.

I want to thank Acting Chief Mick Mulvaney for having served the Administration so well. He will become the United States Special Envoy for Northern Ireland. Thank you!

Mulvaney, who has been in various roles at the White House for the past three years, faltered in his duties during the heat of the impeachment debacle. He was subpoenaed by house democrats during the inquiry which eventually led to Trump’s impeachment.

Meadows announced earlier this year that he would not seek reelection to represent North Carolina in the House.
