Bezos’ Streaming Service, Twitch, Temporarily Bans Trump Over Hate Speech

Twitch, a little known streaming platform owned by Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos, has temporarily suspended President Trump’s account for breaking it’s terms of service. The platform claims footage from the president’s speeches amounts to ‘hateful conduct.’

The offending content included footage from then candidate Trump’s 2015 campaign launch which referenced people crossing over the Mexican-U.S. border to illegally, as well as comments from Trump’s most recent campaign rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Twitch spokesperson told Fox News,

Hateful conduct is not allowed on Twitch. In line with our policies, President Trump’s channel has been issued a temporary suspension from Twitch for comments made on stream, and the offending content has been removed.

Twitch claims that it warned the Trump campaign in 2019 when it joined the platform that he would be required to abide by the company’s guidelines. According to their terms of service, they have a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards violations.

Situation is breaking and updates will be forthcoming.
