According to WMUR, one Milford resident named Kelly, said she had received one of the letters, loaded with threatening rhetoric.

I was very taken aback. This is my home. You’re not supposed to threaten my home. I’m very worried in the sense that this is going on in my town,

Kelly told reporters.

Several people in the town of Brookline also received the letters.

The letter states that homeowners should have their insurance up to date in order to cover potential fire damage. It blames the homeowner for starting the “Civil War.”

Brookline police Chief Bill Quigley, also expressed shocked that someone had sent such threatening letters. Quigley has notified the U.S. Postal Service. If caught, the perpetrators of the letter could face federal charges.

It’s on a felony level, because of the threat of burning homes down and causing injury, but it could also be with the postal inspectors, something on the federal level,

Said Quigley.

Others who received the letters or have any information on their origins are encouraged to come forward.
