Sex Offender and alleged child trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein, will remain locked away behind bars for the time being, as a federal judge considers whether to grant bail on charges he sexually abused teenage girls. U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman said he needed more time to mull the decision during Epstein’s bail hearing Monday morning.

Prosecutor’s told the judge that they had recently unearthed a major stash of good that could make Epstein even more of a flight risk than he already is due to his significant wealth and foreign connections. Agents discovered a “pile of cash, diamonds” and “a passport from a foreign country” in a safe belonging to Epstein.

The find strengthens the prosecutions request that he be denied bail, as he has obviously planned for an escape by holding a fake passport. The passport is from a foreign country and shows a picture of the defendant under different name according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Alex Rossmiller. The passport was issued in the 1980’s and showed the country of residence as Saudi Arabia.

After his arrest on July 6th, Federal agents conducting a search of his posh Upper East Side townhouse and found a significant volume of photographs of nude and partially-nude young women or girls. The investigations have extended to properties Epstein owns in the Virgin Islands and Wyoming.
