Ilhan Omar Marries Lover, Tim Mynett Who Received More than $500K From Her Campaign

So the rumors we reported back in September were true. Ilhan Omar was having an affair with campaign strategist, Tim Mynett. Though both dispelled the rumors of their affair, Omar’s sudden separation from her husband and Mynett being sued by his wife for abandonment, implied otherwise. The world was not fooled by their denials.

So it really comes as no surprise that Omar announced their marriage to the world on Instagram.

According to the Star Tribune:

The Minneapolis Democrat finalized her divorce from husband Ahmed Hirsi in November, several months after Mynett’s wife, a Washington, D.C., physician, alleged in court filings that he left her after becoming romantically involved with Omar. Mynett and his wife have also since finalized their divorce.

Omar’s relationship with Mynett is at the heart of a “Federal Election Commission complaint alleging that money Omar’s campaign committee paid to Mynett and his firm for travel expenses were for personal use. “

Bongino.com reports:

Mynett, who is believed to be the man in the photo with Omar, received more than 40% of Omar’s campaign donations.

Between October and December of last year, Omar’s campaign committees paid Mynett’s firm E Street Group $215,000, more than half of total disbursements over that time period (most of which was after her campaign was over). In total, E Street Group received $525,000 from Omar’s campaign, or forty percent of her campaign’s overall spending.

Just another in a string of strange and unethical actions by the freshman congresswoman from Minnesota.
