Multiple news outlets are reporting that Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders has endorsed Joe Biden for the Democrat nominee for president.
Sanders who left the race last week endorsed Biden during a livestream webcast with former VP Biden.
Sanders said:
I’m asking every Democrat, I’m asking every independent, I’m asking a lot of Republicans, to come together in this campaign to support your candidacy, which I endorse.
Sanders endorsement Biden is a major step toward unifying the Democrat Party in it’s effort to unseat President Donald Trump.
Sanders, who announced he was suspending his campaign last week, intends on keeping his delegates and amassing more during primary voting in order to have influence over the democrat platform. The DNC will hold it’s convention later this summer, having postponed it once due to the coronavirus outbreak.
