President Trump formally kicked off his 2020 campaign for re-election Tuesday night in front of a capacity crowd in Orlando’s Amway Center. In poring rain and 100 degree weather, Trump supporters waited over 40 hours to witness another great moment in history.

In the middle of his speech, he invited Sarah Huckabee Sanders up to speak. The crowd was elated and gave her a thunderous round of applause.

Sanders, who was clearly moved by the gesture, had a brief moment of embrace with President Trump as she made her way to the podium. Likely the largest crowd she has spoken before, and just as likely the friendliest, she signaled the crowd to quiet down and gave a few words of gratitude to Trump.

Of her time as White House Press Secretary, she said:

“This has truly the honor of a lifetime, one of the most incredible experiences anybody could ever imagine.”

Sanders recounted that she was able “to be on the front row of history” watching the president “drastically change our country for the better”.

“You’ve made America great. You’re going to continue making America great and will continue to make America great. I couldn’t be prouder to be part of your team.”

Sanders vowed to “be a strong voice and fierce advocate” for the president.

She ended by thanking the president to a rousing applause from the audience. Sarah Sanders will be leaving her post as White House Press Secretary at the end of the month. In a tweet earlier in the day, Sanders noted her last trip as Press Secretary.

Trump expressed that “he has a feeling” she will run for governor of Arkansas. Only time will tell.
