Richard Pilger, Head of Director Crimes Branch in the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) Public Integrity Section, has resigned over the decision by Attorney General Bill Barr to authorize election fraud investigations in the 2020 election. The New York Times reported that Pilger “stepped down from the post within hours” of Barr’s authorization.
I posed a thread about how the gatekeeper of criminal election fraud at the DOJ is Richard Pilger, who worked closely with Lois Lerner at the IRS in the Obama days (ie, when the DOJ rabidly pursued the president's agenda — good, bad, or mostly ugly — to target Tea Party orgs. https://t.co/22MPpmzffl

Pilger wrote a letter to colleagues in which he informed them that he would move to a nonsupervisory role working on corruption prosecutions.
Pilger is staying at DOJ but his resignation from election crimes and the memo are a testament to how grossly politicized and partisan the Barr DOJ is, in service of Trump. It is a total travesty. https://t.co/Q4xfpXWDdS

As attorney Harmeet Dhillon points out, Pilger has a sketchy past involvement with Lois Lerner who, during the Obama presidency, allegedly colluding with Lerner to target and prosecute conservative organizations for IRS violations.
5/ … Allegedly colluding with her on ways to target and prosecute conservative organizations like Tea Party and others. Here's an article from @ACLJ about his involvement with Lerner's illegal scheme to frame conservatives: https://t.co/Wok0W1WGpf

Pilger also refused to answer over 36 questions about the IRS scandal while under subpoena for Darrell Issa, for the House Oversight Committee in 2014.

Go figure that the guy who conspired with Lois Lerner to suppress conservative speech during the Obama years, was head of voter fraud investigations. The swamp runs deep, but with one less swamp creature in it tonight.
