Two medications which are available by prescription only have been restricted by Nevada’s governor Steve Sisolak (D), to prevent people from hoarding them during the Covid-19 crisis.

Nevada’s Health Response office released a memo on Tuesday, stating that access to chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine would be limited in order to allow those in need to be able to get them and to prevent hoarding by those who do not have an immediate need for the drugs.
The notice stated:
…there is no concensus among COVID-19 experts or Nevada’s own medical health advisory team that the two drugs provide treatment for COVID-19 patients.
The order mandates that patients with a COVID-19 diagnosis cannot receive the drug.
Sisolak said:
This emergency regulation protects Nevadans who need these drugs for legitimate medical purposes. At this point there is no known cure for COVID-19 and we must not withhold these drugs from those who need them….the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to stay home for Nevada, not to stockpile these drugs.
