I think I can make just as much of a claim for it as Lara Loomer.
I was trying to listen to the latest podcast of VDare’s Life in the Alien Nation, but I didn’t get even 15 minutes before I had to stop it to write some comments.
The first thing they were debating was whether or not El Centro Sector Chief Gregory Bovino’s statistic that there are over 100 million illegal aliens in the United States or not. Since the census gives the U.S. population at 350 million, that would mean almost one in three people here are illegal aliens. That seems more than a bit far fetched. Two days ago, I was in a fight in the comments section on social media with a guy who claimed that Peter Brimelow was an exaggerator into fear mongering. (I had a few words with him about that). So, I’m with Peter that it is important to try to be as accurate as possible on the statistics.
There was a Yale and MIT study in 2018 found 22.1 million illegal aliens in the country. That sounds about right to me at the time.
Keep in mind, 2018 into 2019 was when Trump stabbed Jeff Sessions in the back and revoked the Zero Tolerance policy and millions were let in at that point. (I do not trust Trump as a result). So, I can safely say the number went up from 22.1 million during Trump’s first administration. Of course, then the number went up under Alejandro Majorkass. (Majorkas, the Cuban traitor if he can even be considered American. China Joe wasn’t running anything). If I’d take a stab at it, I’d say there are around 30 million illegal aliens in the country.
Mark Krikorian over at CIS.org has made the point that a lot of aliens (legal or not) travel back and forth across the border. They self-deport so to speak, but then come back. Also, in my experience on the ground, sadly, a lot of illegal aliens are still able to naturalize through things like anchor babies and marriage. There are other scams like the U-visa where an illegal alien claims to be a victim of a crime and is allowed to stay in the U.S. It’s very widely abused.
The traitors over at USCIS were always at odds with us in the enforcement branches as they tried to legalize people as rapidly as we tried to deport them. I can remember putting an alert on a DACA recipient because a work van registered in his name was being used by a work crew of illegal Mexicans that we had caught. (He wasn’t the driver and he eventually got the van back). USCIS ignored my alert and legalized him anyway. I’ve encountered a lot of people who entered illegally or overstayed their visas and managed to get an “immigration benefit” through one scheme or another. For statistic purposes, this reduces the number of people who are illegal aliens even if they didn’t get status here in the U.S. through the conventional “right way”. (After I initially wrote this, I came across an article about how USCIS officials Lukman Owolabi Ganiyu and Adniyi Akeem Somoye were arrested for accepting bribes in order to naturalize people who shouldn’t have been naturalized. I’m willing to bet there are more USCIS employees who are either dirty-accepting bribes, or, so far to the left politically that they will give a green card to virtually anybody).
NOW ABOUT MILO:
Dan Lyman might be right that this was a targeted operation against Milo, but I doubt it. It sounds far fetched, but Kevin Deanna and I may have had something to do with his arrest. I know it’s a long shot, but when I was being interviewed by Kevin Deanna, Kevin asked me if there was anything else that ICE/Border Patrol could be doing to pick up illegal aliens. This was around the time when ICE Special Agents got deployed to the airports because the Democrats had shut down TSA. At the time, ICE was largely walking around the airport and handing out water to passengers.
Back when I first got to the Buffalo Station in 2008, we had Agents who were still assigned to transportation checks. We went to the Buffalo bus terminal, the train station, and sometimes to the Buffalo Airport to try to find illegal aliens. At the airport, foreigners often have out their passports to show TSA anyway. One of our Agents (I called him the Rooster and Gary at times in my book, “What Bridge Do You Work At?”) used to work the graveyard shift, then go in first thing in the morning when the airport opened up. He checked passengers for visas and for visa overstays. He sacked up a lot of aliens. I told Kevin that TSA could be doing that for ICE. Check visas for expiration dates.
O.K., maybe it’s simply that ICE Special Agents were deployed to the airports and they came up with the idea on their own, or, maybe the idea was in the pipeline for a while. I don’t know. But, it wasn’t too long after that interview that TSA began going through passenger lists looking for visa overstays. They already go through passenger lists for terrorists on the No Fly list anyway. Now, they expanded it to include visa overstays. No need to go running around neighborhoods trying to find them. Just wait for them to come to you at the airport.
Lara Loomer likes to take credit for Milo’s arrest. She claimed he was living in a drug den with his black boyfriend/husband and getting high every day. However, ICE didn’t bother to go looking for him there. One day, Milo decided to go on a flight. It must have been an internal flight because my understanding was that if he could have shown the ICE Agents that his ticket was for going out of the country, they would not have sacked him up, but just let him fly out.
By way of explanation, Milo had a court date that he did not show up for. He was ordered deported in absentia. In the Patrol, we called this a “bag & baggage”. You bag the person up, and send them on their way with their baggage. Essentially, you (the alien) have no right to a trial, you already had a trial and you didn’t bother to show up for it. Milo got sacked up in New Orleans. As luck would have it, British Airways has direct flights to London from there. With a non-violent offender, they likely watched him get on the plane and leave.
The airlines probably like this. Milo paid for a ticket for which he hopefully doesn’t get a refund, and British Airways sold a last second ticket for an otherwise empty seat.
Now, CIS is reporting that the foreign born population is down by 2.9 million. That appears to show that even people with legal status in the United States are leaving. We’re not making them feel welcome and lo that is a good thing.
I don’t know if someone in the Trump administration is following “Identity Politics” (they would never admit it), and it’s just as likely that the guys still on the job who used to sack up illegal aliens at the airport were the ones who had this brilliant idea, but they hadn’t started doing it full scale till a month or two after that episode aired.
