Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont has suspended his second and most successful bid for the White House as democrat nominee for president. Sanders, who is 78 ran on a progressive ticket of social justice, universal healthcare, and rejection of the rich, all projects with an admittedly socialist bent.

The long-time front runner for the democrats had a series of devastating primary loses which made it clear that he would not be able to accrue the delegate vote needed to become the party’s nominee.

His 2016 campaign in which he was the likely front runner was thwarted by the DNC, who chose to instill Hillary Clinton as their nominee. Clinton went on the a devastating lost to current president Donald Trump in what would call the upset of the century.
